Is it possible to get out of a stop sign ticket considering the circumstances?

I wouldn't get my hopes up. If you appear in court, the fine will most likely be cut in half if you plead guilty. There is also a good chance that the officer will not show up ... which will result in dismissal. The car in front is irrelavent. Following you over the city limit is bad for you, not good ... the officer could claim you were evading. Street and city incorrect may be grounds to have the ticket dismissed, but I'd rely on a lawyer to do the talking- you are as likely to make your case worse as not, by representing yourself. Unless you have so many points that your license is close to suspension, I'd pay the fine and make sure to fully stop at the sign next time. If your situation is serious and worth the time and investment, then get representation and for $500 or so, a good attorney make get the charges dismissed.
