Will house centipedes bit if i dont bug them?

We are getting alot of house centipedes lately. I know why they have them and I know they bite. But im just a kid and my parents wont do anything about them. I have read they are harmless and if they do bite its just like a bee sting. But will they bite me in my sleep or when im just chilling at home. Or do i have to be bugging them to get them to bite me? Should i be worried? What should I do?
