I guess I can say I have a high pain tolerance. I have been pinching my cartilage really hard to see if it hurts, but I know that's not the same as having a needle shoved through it. ever since the start of college, the very few of the friends i had all went out of state for school and I'm attending a university in state. The problem I have is that I don't like to talk to unfamiliar faces, avoid eye contact, and excuse myself from situations in which I may have to do some conversing. Pretty much no contact with people. It gets boring and kinda saddening not gonna lie, but i tend to keep myself happy. I just wanted to know overall if it's possible to overcome this, If not I guess i can live like this. ^.^

Can Anyone Offer Law School Insight?

I'm considering law school...but I'm not exactly sure and was wondering if someone could give me a little insight. Here's some perspective about me... For the last couple years I've basically been gearing up for an academic career, but I'm strongly reconsidering because I'm not as naive as I was as a freshman, and I know the market sucks for phd's, especially in my field. Anyways, I'm a junior at a pretty prominent liberal arts college in the US. I'm majoring in Linguistics and Spanish and speak 5 languages, 3 of them fluently. I TA for composition/oral communication and symbolic logic classes, so my writing/speaking and logical reasoning skills are high. Also, for those unfamiliar with linguistics, it REALLY hones your analytical skills. In addition, My GPA is a 4.0 (on a 4.0 scale), and I've received some high academic honors and grants from my college (for research that I've carried out here). Basically what I'm trying to say is that I'm not worried about getting IN to law school. Nor am I really worried about hating law school while I'm in it. The reason why I'm considering it so strongly is because I love a good intellectual challenge. What I'm worried is that I might get into law school, get a JD, and hate my job/life afterwords. If anyone here has experience in law (with my multi-cultural and multi-lingual background I'm drawn to International Law, but IP Law also interests me), could you describe the average curriculum, job prospects, and typical work involved? I'm looking for some insight into the discipline. Given my background, do you think this sort of career would be a good fit for me? Thanks a bunch.

Anyone swaddle(d) an older baby?

We had a similar problem with my son, now 13 months. He was still being swaddled at 7 months, but would fight to get out... as soon as he got out, he'd wake up and cry until I reswaddled him. Then he went right back to sleep. It was a horrible cycle and we got no sleep! We decided to do sleep training and take away the swaddle all at once. At 8 months, I tried a modified ferber method (cry it out). While this is not for everyone, it worked for us, and I highly recommend doing it. I made sure he was fed, warm and dry and put him in his crib. Then I checked on him at gradually increasing intervals until he stopped crying and went to sleep. The first night took 2 hours. Second night took 1 hour and the third night was only 10 minutes. On the fourth night I gave him a little security blanket and he went to sleep immediately. He's been amazing ever since! I recommend this to anyone trying to get rid of pacifiers, swaddling, or just to get baby to sleep through the night. If and when I have another, we'll do it much sooner!

Is there funding for children with autism?

I live in Michigan and have a nephew with moderate autism. He's in need of therapy and a few other forms of treatment that I'm unfamiliar with. My brother makes in the 90k-100k range, but he's the sole provider for the household. Also, my sister in-law has various health conditions including MS, lupus (not sure I spelled that right), mixed connective tissue disorder, and arthritis just to name a few. Needless to say, much of their income goes to their medical treatment and medications for my sister in-law. Their insurance doesn't cover much of either of their needs. I know they make a lot, but you'd be surprised how quickly that gets depleted. Does anyone know of any foundations, state funding, or organizations that could help?? Worried about drivers test,driving an unfamiliar vehicle. Advice?

So tomorrow is my long awaited drivers test.Ive been driving my moms micro mini van (2006 Mazda 5) For the past almost 2 years. Ive driven it pretty much every day since i got my permit in 2009, and im very good at driving the car. It's small,simple,and easy to maneuver.Now the problem with these cars is that theyre first generation. So the factory essentially mass produced them without much consideration for the rear suspension. There was a recall on the car but we missed the cut off date. The rear shocks and struts constantly break,and the wheels lean inward. The only fix is a 300 dollar kit on the mazda website. And to add to that, the check engine light and ABS light are lit up on the dash because of a mishap after we took the car to a local car shop. Theyre just bad sensors, but still. We took the car to the DMV to see if i would be able to take it. They denied ONLY because of the lights,even after a note from the shop and a very detailed explanation. So now im being forced to drive my dads 2004 F150 stx.Which im not very use to because he is always working. Ive driven the truck maybe 13 times in the past 2 years. And only short distances. Its hard to drive and i cant ever turn right. Anyone have advice on what to do? I would drive my car for my test,but its uninsured at the moment and not plated. Thanks for any help

Are earbuds bad if used 12 hours a day?

Like the ones that kind of suction in your ear. I have them in for very long amounts of time, usually around 12 hours a day on my computer, only taking them out for about 20 minutes of that. Usually watching movies, listening to music and so on. My windows volume is usually set around 50 percent, which I find sufficiently loud. Probably 20% of the 12 hours I have nothing playing, but I hear the static my motherboard lets off for some reason. But the earbuds are still in. Is this safe long-term?

My boss would like me to quickly stain some OTC embedded brain sections with H&E but he insists there is a way to do it by mixing the hemotoxylin and eosin and then simply dipping the slide in until the tissue looks sufficiently stained. Unless you have so many points that your license is close to suspension, I'd pay the fine and make sure to fully stop at the sign next time. If your situation is serious and worth the time and investment, then get representation and for $500 or so, a good attorney make get the charges dismissed.

Question about living with future husband's parents?

My boyfriend is the eldest child and he financially supports his parents and siblings. His mother is a housewife, his father works as a mechanic and he earns sufficiently but he still supports them, and his sister is 23, and his 2 brothers are 12 and 19, so he plays an important part. The issue and conflict I am facing is living with his parents. I would love to live alone with my husband, and to be living with ANY guy's parents would be difficult to adjust to. Labrador retriever + small backyard?

i love labrador retrievers and i am 100% set on a lab. The only problem is i have a small backyard. I do not have a small backyard but it is not properly fenced in so we got some gates to have a small portion of the backyard safe. i went on vacation last week, and i was all like "i'm going to excersize and eat healthy! i can do it!" well that plan DID NOT work. i was with my best friend who i think is anorexic and i just couldn't handle going to all the restaurants and Disney World and stuff to make good choices. however many calories you are eating now, just increase them by 200-400 calories, so you will have many more options while on vacation, and not feel bad about eating poorly. you shouldn't gain more than 5 pounds at the most, because of all the walking and sight seeing you'll be doing. try your best to get as much excersize as you can without ruining your trip. maybe wake up earlier than everyone else and get some jump n jacks, sit ups, crunches, running in place, and other quick and easy exercises. but remember, you're on vacation, and don't deprive yourself of all the great food in Quebec, but eat in moderation, and if you want to indulge in something yummy, do it! but be sure to burn off those extra calories by getting some excersize before bed. maybe you could take one of those 10 minute solution excersize tapes from Walmart. they're AMAZING~ have a great vacation and enjoy yourself! Sunburned face stings bad!?

So I have been at the beach andwater park these past 3 or 4 days and my face is a little bit red, but I think my burn is worse. Whenever I wash my face, it soothes it because my face is really dry, but then when I put moisturizer on, or acne cream, aloe vera, etc. It stings! And it hurts really bad! Is there any way to help?? Okay so I got my first pair of contacts yesterday (Trial Pair) and yesterday I didnt have much problem other than the occasional discomfort. Well today in the morning i put them in and had to wear them for 6 hours today like my doctor told me. At first I was alright just a little uncomfortable then an hour later or so my eyes would get REALLY watery and irritated continously so i took them out and put them back in to see if that was the problem and my eyes felt fine but then they kept getting irritated, and watery, and starting stinging and this time my eyes kinda got a little red. So i kept them in thinking its probably my eyes getting used to contacts and I held through the pain for hours. Well hours passed and now it was 30 mins before i could take them off and I couldnt handle it no more they were stinging bad and both of my eyes were getting foggy/blurry so i took them off and now my eyes are bloodshot and my right eye is very uncomfortable and i have this red mark around my Iris on my right eye. Is this normal for wearing contacts the first time? or am I allergic to them? I'm worried it might be an infection cause my eyes were getting very watery and irritated when i had them on. :S

I am looking for a laptop as I head off to college(engineering major). I need a laptop that is quite durable and reliable as I do not want it breaking during the school year. The importance on reliability has brought me more towards business laptops than your typical consumer models. My budget is around $750. I can build both models listed above with decent specs and they both cost about the same. From what I have read online, Thinkpads seem to be the most reliable but the Latitude also seem to be built quite sturdy and are much more pleasing to the eye. Two weeks ago, I applied Weed and Feed and burned my lawn in many spots. I can't stand the sight of it, so I headed to Lowes tonight and grabbed some Scott's Heat Tolerant Blue Mix and Scott's Starter fertilizer. I plan on removing the dead grass, aerating the soil using a Garden Weasel, applying the seed and fertilizer, then covering the seed with straw. My only concern is, with it being June, is it too late to expect results? I live near St. Louis, MO and the weather here is supposed to be mid 80's for the next week. Expansions in sims 2 double deluxe are not working...?

I recently got Sims 2 double deluxe. Before, I had sims 2 and some other expansions, but I uninstalled them to install this game. The installation went fine, nothing 'weird' happened during it. I had to leave the house after I finished completely installing it, so I turned off the computer. When I came back and turned it on and clicked on the double deluxe icon and the usual screen popped up. That's when I noticed that Nightlife and the Celebration Stuff expansion packs that come with Sims 2 double deluxe weren't installed. If you are unfamiliar with Sims 2 games, there are little icons that light up on the pop up screen when you have an expansion installed. The two icons for these expansions weren't lite up. I tried click the 'play' button anyway to see what happened, and it just closed the window and nothing happened. So, I installed another expansion pack to see if the basegame(sims 2) did install. Going through the 2nd expansion icon to get the pop up and click play, everything worked and the game started. Except for the nightlife expansion and the Celebration expansion still weren't there. I have no idea what to do, please help?

Coming from someone who has basically been through all of the things you've mentioned above and more; I can tell you that you can't REALLY trust anyone. Truth be told, you can only trust yourself. There is a long story behind this so i will try to keep it short. I work in a law firm and I was asked to back up a department for two months while her supervisor was out on sick leave. Going mad with PC fax issues...?

I tried a free trial of online faxing. None of them went through and I had to argue to get the "contract" cancelled. I bought a fax modem in PCI card format, only to discover it was obsolete (it uses old PCI technology) and my state of the art HP PC already has an "internal modem"... very nice, but they didn't equip it with a telephone socket, did they! It runs off a cable internet connection, and we pay already for a separate land line for our phone. Socializing my puppy?

New pet scorpion- Care tips/help?!?

This is terrible(no offence) The substrate should not be sand. They cant burrow easily in it and it retains almost no moisture. The substrate should be peat moss, vermiculite, peat moss/vermiculite mix, or coco nut fiber. I personally use coconut fiber. There should be at least 4 inches of substrate so they can burrow. The tank size and hides is right. They need humidity of at least 80%. They are a tropical species of scorpion. They do not like light so replace the light it has with an infrared bulb(they cant see infrared) or the ceramic heat emitter. The ceramic heat emitter is preferable because it produces no light at all. If your worried about it being to hot than but a thermostat to turn it down. That's what I did. I like to keep the humidity really high so I spray the cage 2-3 times a day heavily. I also pour some water in a corner so it can go to the bottom of the tank and absorb into the substrate to keep the humidity up all day. I do that twice daily. Buy a humidity/temperature gauge at Walmart. There about 10 dollars. They will just about anything that moves. Sometimes they even eat each other. its recommended to keep them singly but they can be housed together without too many problems. They are found in colonies in the wild. Don't feed them wild things cause they might have pesticides on them and contain parasites. idk how often they molt but i know they molt six times than they they stop. Its very hard to distinguish a male from a female. Take good care of your scorpion and don't listen to these people I know what im doing.

Ok, so this morning I let my great dane outside to go to the bathroom when we got out of bed. He was outside for approximately 3-4 minutes before he came back inside. I noticed that he was kind of acting goofy and rubbing his head into his dog bed and pawing at his face. Shortly there after I realized that his eyes were swollen up and had bumps or hives on his head. There was no swelling or hives anywhere else on his body. This was around 6:30-7:00 am this morning and most of the swelling had gone down by the time I got him to the vet at 9 am. The doctor assumed that it was a bug bite or a sting, as I am sure any vet would have due to his symptoms, and just gave him a benadryl shot and no steroids. We came home and he slept for several hours. I let him outside to go to the bathroom after he woke up. He was outside for only a couple of minutes before he came in. About 5 minutes later I noticed his eyes were swelling up again. I gave him 100mg of benadryl as the vet had instructed me to do. This was around 4pm and the swelling went down. I went outside with my dog tonight, (7:45ish), to play with him and keep an eye on him to see if his eyes would swell up again, and they did. I was watching him pretty close and I didn't see anything sting or bite him. I am so confused to what could be doing this to him because all of the "seasonal" allergy related/ hay fever stuff I have looked up seems to go along with more of itchy skin and feet - Not swelling of the eyes and hives ONLY on the face. I will keep an eye on him for the next day or so, and if it continues to happen I will take him back to the vet. I am trying to get advice from other dog owners who may have had similar issues with their dog before I take him back to the vet. I spent $100 for today's visit and I'm collecting unemployment at the moment, so money is tighter than I would like it to be. If anyone has advice or might know what this is, PLEASE help!! I've seen bass spitting up smaller fish alive for quite a few minutes after eating them already. How long can one fish survive in the belly of another? Unlike a mouse in the belly of a snake (a prior question I had), fish aren't necessarily swimming in a vat of concentrated stomach acid, and don't have to have air to breathe. As long as the fluids around it are sufficiently diluted, I'd imagine it could stay alive for quite some time. :-?

There's nothing wrong with being an introvert! I consider myself to be one. Introversion doesn't mean that somebody is necessarily shy or socially awkward like some think, one can be extroverted and shy as well. All introversion means is that you enjoy spending time by yourself and build up energy that way. Extroversion means you constantly feel the need to be around people, though that doesn't necessarily mean you have good social skills. So for me, being introverted means that even though I definitely like spending time with close friends and meeting new people, there are many times where I would just rather be by myself and think things to myself. But I've been to lots of job interviews and consider myself a decent interviewee, seeing as I got the first job I interviewed for both this summer and last. You being nervous has nothing to do with introversion and is something that can be easily worked on.

I'm 18 years old and lost my virginity just over a month ago. Last night, I had sex for the fourth time ever, and it was very painful and this morning I saw some spots of blood in my bed. I know that virgins can sometimes bleed when they first have sex, so is this still the case even though I've had sex several times before? Why exactly am I bleeding? How much longer will sex be painful? Everything was sufficiently lubricated down there, so that wasn't an issue. Is there anything I or my partner can do to make sex less painful? HELP!!! GOT A SUNBURN AND IT LITERALLY BURNS!!!?

So i put on spray banana boat sunscreen on my face and it stung and burned my face so bad. so i ran inside and washed it off then put on sun-pro sunscreen which did not sting or burn my face. all was well :) then my mom told me and my friends to reapply the sunscreen and i took a banana boat sunscreen face stick and it started to sting and burn my face again!!! it hurt bad but i sucked it up for 5 min till i could jump in the pool. after the pool, it still stung but not as bad so i took a shower. i used my facwash which also made my faceburn. then i came out and i have a sunburn and but on some more sun-pro sunscreen and it burned but only for a minute. not to long. i am not sure why it is burning because it still is burning!! is it because i have a sunburn on my face now?!?! or what!! it all started after i put on the spray sun screen!! ouch it hurt so bad!!!!!! and i really want to get rid of this burning feeling!! would alo work?? what would?!?!

How can you completely spray paint a chain necklace?

I like to spray paint the chain I purchase at Michael's to match the pieces of jewelry I add to it. I can get most of it painted,but the parts of the chain that overlap do not get covered. I'm not sure how I can sufficiently paint the entire chain. I thought of painstakingly painting each piece and then putting it together,but in the reassembling process I would end up scraping off paint with my tools. Please help!

Blood in stool, can you help?

I am noticing blood along with my stool after going to the restroom. The blood is not mixed into the stool, but it comes out along with it (it is usually bright red). Sometimes the blood squirts out in a stream as I bear down.Also, I see dark red fragments that accompany it, I can't tell whether its skin from inside or coagulated blood.Other symptoms are, stinging sensations in my intestinal area. I thought the blood was there cause I was taking too much aspirin.I have a Dr.'s appt. on the 6th of the month. I saved the fragment in a ziplock bag and put in fridge so I can take it in, has anyone ever had this prob.?
